Gotta Getta Bear

$11.95

Description

This PreK-K lesson kit includes a PDF script to prepare students for storytelling, instructional videos, and assessment guidelines for math and oral language. Gotta Getta Bear! is an arts integrated story designed to teach sequence and reverse sequence. Understanding forward and reverse sequences prepares students for counting forward and backwards.

You’ll follow the script and watch the videos to learn the storyteller’s craft of creating voices, facial expressions, and gestures that bring a story to life. You’ll discover how to animate small toys and simple objects while leading students in the telling of a story. And you’ll explore how to help students draw story maps to demonstrate their understanding of the story’s sequence of events.

This Toy Story is then extended to explore quantities in sequence and in reverse sequence — counting forward and backwards. Use this arts-integrated teaching strategy with your students and enjoy watching their focus, cooperation, and comprehension soar!

<!–Learn the storyteller's craft of creating voices, facial expressions, and gestures that bring a story to life. Then discover how to animate small toys and simple objects as you lead students in the telling of a story. As the storytelling unfolds, the mathematical concept that underlies the story is revealed. Students draw a map of the story's sequence of events to demonstrate their comprehension of both the story and the underlying order concepts.

Gotta Getta Bear! is used to introduce sequence and reverse sequence, and then relate these concepts to counting forward and backwards. Use this arts-integrated teaching strategy with your students and experience how storytelling powerfully develops children’s focus, cooperation, comprehension, and spatial reasoning.–>
